Brooklyn-based SAG/AEA Performer
Hello! My name is Jennifer and I am an actor, dancer and teaching artist based in Brooklyn. I have also newly explored producing, directing and screenwriting.
Between my education in psychology and theater at Barnard College and my conservatory training at the Moscow Art Theatre School, combined with my experience in contemporary theater training techniques including Suzuki and Viewpoints and more Meisner-based approaches, I draw on a plethora of tools in my work. A deep movement background encompassing well over a decade of training in diverse styles of dance, yoga and martial arts informs and guides me as a performer as well.
In my acting roles, I am a time-traveler of sorts, most connecting with period pieces and characters possessing an otherworldly quality or inhabiting otherworldly realms. Much of my work has focused on classical pieces, including devised adaptations of Dostoyevsky and Rousseau, as well as mythological, sci-fi and poetic fantasia.
Keep an eye out for my upcoming work—a supporting role in Paul Schrader's The Basics of Philosophy, a starring role in a docu-fiction short film "Flowers that Bloom During the War" and a supporting role in an action-thriller short "Heart Attack”.
Check out Hal Hartley's Where to Land- featured in MoMA’s The Contenders 2025 series and awarded the Best Film Grand Jury Prize at the Lisbon International Film Festival (LEFFEST)!
And see me performing polyphonic folk harmonies with Ukrainian Village Voices!
